The finder that wasn’t
I stumbled across a mockup for a new OS X finder dating back a year or so, and it seems perfect; the new Leopard finder is great, but there are so many little things about this I love:
- Important attributes show below the name - picture resolution, movie length, document word count, etc.
- Different file types can be easily shown and hidden, and each type can be shown differently (so you can make the icon size for movies larger then text documents)
- A much cleaner, more vibrant look
It’s a shame the apple dev team didn’t focus on a design like this, rather then try to mold the finder into the itunes interface
